CROWN OF CINDERS BLOG TOUR: Interview with Rebecca Ethington

I haven't done a blog tour in ages!

Actually, scratch that. I haven't posted in ages.

I am very lucky this week as we are celebrating Rebecca Ethington's new book in the Imalind series, and as part of the tour I was able to interview the author herself! She kindly answered my questions so that we can learn everything about her newest release, due to be published on the 28th November.

1. Hi Rebecca! First of all, how are you?

I’m great! It’s been a busy couple months gearing up for the final Imdalind Book release- okay, it’s been a busy couple of years as I’ve worked through this amazing series. And while I am glad it’s almost over, it’s also bittersweet. I can tell you one thing - I will be grateful for a good nights sleep.

2. Can you tell people who don't know what your series Imdalind is about?

Sure! Simply put, it’s about a girl who goes on an adventure through a magical world - and may or may not be the only one who cans ave them. More complex - there is all sorts of crazy characters, and action, and adventure as a girl get’s thrown out a window and into a world of magic, and even more than that into a war that involves her best friend who she may or may not be in love with. That’s just the beginning (I don’t want to give it away!) But the series spans seven books and almost a million words! So obviously more happens than just that!

3. What inspired you to write the series in the first place?

It’s actually based off a story I used to tell my grandmother when I was young. Back when I told it to her it was high fantasy with elves and dwarves and the like - so obviously it’s gone through some changes since then…

4. Where does the story of Crown of Cinders begin from the last book in the series?

Moments later. I’m not kidding. Conversations even pick up where they were left off - it is a seamless addition.

5. How would you describe Joclyn? Would you say she is a strong female lead?

Ha Ha - not in the beginning. She is definitely the epitome of winey teenager in the beginning - but that’s okay - because she changes pretty quick and starts kicking trash before you know it! Besides, there are so many strong characters in this series - she has her work cut out for her to catch up to them!

6. What can we expect from Crown of Cinders?

Crown of Cinders is definitely the longest of the Imdalind Books and while you get pretty much everything you were promised (read: war) You also get to see the finality of the story lines for each character - and I think that is pretty epic.

7. Lastly, describe Crown of Cinders in 3 words.

Every One Dies. Just kidding…. well, maybe… 😉

Thanks Rebecca!

Also, there is an online quiz to find out what magical being you would be in the series! (I got Trspiliks)
